Each year the NAA grants scholarships to three high school seniors who live or go to school in Newton. In 2022, $6,000 in prize money will be divided among recipients. Applications will open February 15, 2022.

• Virtual Awards presented:  May 4, 2022, 7:00-8:00 p.m.
• All applicants receive a free NAA membership for one year.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. You are a Newton resident or go to high school in Newton.
2. Your work is 2-D or 3-D, such as printmaking, drawing, photography, painting, digital art, mixed media, metal work, ceramics, or glass.
3. Students who are going to college, taking a “year off” before entering college, or who are entering the military after high school are eligible.

Application Process:

1. Complete the online application (using the online document, you can type in your information).
2. Submit 8 images of your work in digital format (JPG format only). Label each jpg with your
   NAME followed by the NUMBER of your image (#1-8). Example: JoanSmith_1.jpg, JoanSmith_2.jpg, etc.
   JPG should be 300 dpi (if possible). The file dimensions should be at least 1900 pixels on the longest side and not be larger than 5 MB.
3. Artist Statement: Please provide a short introduction to your art, which may include what inspires you, a description of your process, or the role art plays in your life. (250 words or less).
4. Include an inventory sheet with your name and a list of your numbered artworks with title, size, medium, and year completed.6
