Karen Howard

My creative work includes: drawing, oil and acrylic painting, water color painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry design, apparel design, gardening, landscape design and architecture. Currently I am working with oil, and oil with cold wax, creating representational paintings on canvas and wood panels. My subjects are things I see that are intriguing, and of particular interest to me. I hope to convey to the viewer of my art the element in the scene that first caught my eye and captured my attention. My past professional life includes architecture, and landscape design. While in practice in the landscape I learned a great deal about plants. They are complex, greatly varied, mysterious, beautiful, and so critical to our existence. Plants are one of my passions and are in many of my paintings.
