Schedule:

Tuesday, March 7 Registration begins.
Monday, April 3 Registration closes at midnight.
Sunday, April 23 Drop-off and hanging at the Allen Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sunday, May 7 Reception, 1 to 3 p.m.
Saturday, June 3 Pick-up at The Allen Center from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.

           (all deliveries must be made from the parking lot off of Cherry Street)

Awards Juror:

Marjorie Kaye, Founder of Galatea Fine Art Gallery in Boston. She has been shown extensively both locally and nationally, including galleries such as Galatea Fine Art in Boston, Atlantic Works Gallery in East Boston, Harbor Gallery, UMass Boston, and the Walter Wickiser Gallery in NYC. She was a 2016 winner of the Lillian Orlowsky/William Freed Foundation Grant from PAAM, Provincetown, and was included in a group exhibition in their galleries. Ms. Kaye was named a finalist in the 2018 Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellowship Awards in Painting. In addition, she is currently a writer for ArtScope Magazine.

Information concerning  the Allen Center Exhibition:

  1. Venue can accommodate  2-D works and 3-D work including sculpture, jewelry, fiber work, and metal/ceramic pieces.
  2. For 2-D work, there will be a size limit of 34 inches in width, and 42 inches in length.
  3. Works can include nude figures.
  4. The Allen Center will receive a 20% commission for each work sold; the NAA will receive a 20% commission on each work sold, as well. Artist receives 60% commission.
  5. Each participant will pay an exhibition fee of $25.
  6. Only one piece of artwork per artist is allowed.

NAA Guidelines for all shows:

  1. NAA members in good standing with all dues paid are eligible to participate.
  2. Participants may only submit original work that has not been shown in previous NAA shows.
  3. No printed reproductions of work.
  4. Work must stay up until the end of the show.
  5. Work must be framed and ready to hang with tight wires and screws attached to the frame. Saw tooth hangers and sandwich frames may not be used.
  6. Mats must be white, off white, gray, or other neutral tones.
  7. Frames should be neutral colors (white, black, silver, gold, wood).
  8. For framed artwork larger than 24” on the longest side, glass may not be used. Instead, members must use Plexiglas or comparable “acrylic glass.” Pastel work excepted.
  9. Unframed stretched canvases must have the sides painted or otherwise finished in a manner coordinated with the work and must be DRY.

Procedures and requirements for participants:

  1. Submit application online.
  2. Submit an exhibition fee of $25, payable online by PayPal and credit card; or check made out to NAA and mailed to Mark Chadbourne, 691 Hammond Street, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467.
  3. Read and consent to the waiver on the application for NAA and Allen Center regarding liability.
  4. Label back of artwork with: Artist name, title, media, and price.
  5. Drop off work at the scheduled date and time or make arrangements with others to drop it off on your behalf. Late drop-offs will not be accepted.
  6. Pick up art promptly at the scheduled date and time or make arrangements with others to pick it up on your behalf. No storage space is provided.

File size: No greater than 3MB; 1,000 pixels on longest side.
