Seven High School Seniors Win NAA Scholarship Awards
For more than 30 years, Newton Art Association has recognized outstanding Newton senior art students with scholarship awards. Funding for the scholarship program is made possible by the Edgerley Family Foundation and by the NAA.
This year’s recipients—and their inspiring, persevering teachers—thrived in their artistic pursuits despite the pandemic disruptions.

Newton Country Day School
Through painting, digital art, photography, and graphic design, Gabriella explores expressions of sexual empowerment, femininity, and the power that accompanies female liberation.
Sergei Tourian
Brimmer and May School
Sergei experiences art as a form of meditation. He has explored the isolation of people during the pandemic and the effects of human pollution on marine life.Â

Newton South HIgh School
Talia discovered that drawing her own series of Tarot cards inspired greater inner reflection and helped her to reckon with the unknown.Â
