Artist Statement
I am a photographer based in Newton, Massachusetts.
After a career as a business professor and consultant, I turned to photography as a different way of understanding the world. My work is shaped by a longstanding interest in organizations, the people within them, and the values they express through everyday actions.
I am currently exploring the relationship between photography and institutional life. As Artist-in-Residence at the Newton Cemetery & Arboretum, I am engaged in a long-term photographic study of the cemetery’s culture of stewardship, care, and remembrance. Rather than documenting events or individuals, I seek to reveal institutional character through the ordinary evidence of daily work.
My photographs have been exhibited in juried exhibitions and community venues. I continue to develop long-term projects that examine how photography can deepen our understanding of the organizations and communities that quietly shape our lives.
