Artist Statement

I came to photography after a career built around analysis, advice, and outcomes. Photography offered a different way of paying attention—one that values observation over explanation and curiosity over solutions. It shifted my mode from problem-solving to seeing. Most of my images are made spontaneously. I respond to what I encounter rather than staged scenes, focusing on the ordinary and familiar. I’m drawn to small human gestures and unguarded moments, that surface in everyday life. I joined Newton Art Association not only to share work, but to be part of a community that talks about practice, ideas, and process.
