Margo Ezekiel

I am a Boston-area artist who creates abstract collages, using papers printed on a Gelli plate. I am always exploring different styles and techniques. My art ranges from quiet and serene to vibrant and bold. My work is very organic. I rarely start with an idea, but rather look to my very messy table for a spark of inspiration. Sometimes a collage comes together quickly and just “works.” Other times, it becomes a hot mess, and I have to throw everything off and start again. I aim to create a sense of depth from the varied layers and textures. I also strive for a balance of shapes, lines, textures and colors in a unified composition. As I’ve learned from other aspects of my life, simplicity is the hardest thing to achieve.
