Artist Statement

I discovered felting in 2014. Since then, my interest in felting techniques has only grown further, embracing needle felting, wet felting, and nuno felting. Wool is a natural fiber with an incomparable tactile feature. Another magic of the wool is when it is felted with other natural fibers like, for example, silk and flax, or fibers derived from natural sources like viscose, the wool is transformed into a new medium with a unique texture, color, elasticity, and overall quality. The wool of different colors is easily mixed to make the desired tint, hue, or shade. Making wool paintings is genuinely fantastic and relaxing art. My second passion is making beaded jewelry with Swarovski crystals, gemstones, Murano glass, and Japanese seed beads. The interest in Swarovski crystals appeared in my life when my younger son had become a ballroom dancer. I designed and created dance costumes embellishing them with Swarovski crystal elements. I specialize in Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Boho, and Victorian-style jewelry. https://irinamoroz.art
