Gary Younker

Gary Younker was born 1951 in Waltham , Massachusetts. His art education started in newton school system, but over the years has attended local and regional art classes. He attends Plen-Air groups and work with David p Curits from Gloucester mass, Until his passing in 2021. and received art classes from Robert Douglas Hunter from 1997 to 2011.Mr Hunter, of the Boston School, believed painting is to pursue and honest observation of nature. To see all of nature at a glance and to see all of the parts related to the whole visual experience. Gary paints still life’s and landscapes based on this observation of nature. Gary is a member of the Waltham Arts Council and served as a board member from1997-2000.A member of the Newton Art Association (NAA) and in 2008 WON Honorable Mention, 2017-2021 WON the Molly L. & Henry Schoenberg AWARD at the NAA Endowment Award Show. THE NORTH SHORE ARTS ASSOCIATION awarding the 2021,& 2022 GAMBLIN Artists Colors Award, and SHOW popular Award. Gary in 2022 was juried in as an Artist Member of The North Shore Arts Association. Mr. Younker’s first one man show was in the halls at Newton High School in 1968. Since then his art has been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions. Many of Gary’s paintings hang in local collectors homes throughout New England.
