Claudia Doherty

Claudia began painting seriously after a career in financial services and the births of her three children. She primarily uses oils and acrylics to create landscape and figurative paintings that are both abstract and realistic. She is drawn to moody, earthy tones and subject matter that is both beautiful and bleak. Claudia uses a palette knife to scrape and layer paint to achieve a hard scrabble look of imperfection. She currently paints from her home in Newton, Mass taking inspiration from the places she has lived including Hong Kong, London, Tokyo, Boston and Cape Cod.
