SUMMARY:ANNUAL APPEAL
DESCRIPTION:Image: Judith Hurwitz \n \n MAKE A DONATION\n \nNewton Art Association was founded 75 years ago\, and our commitment to building community among artists and friends lives on today. We are a growing community of artists\, with our 220+ members representing all branches of visual arts. That’s why we are asking for your support to sustain our current programs and to grow our future. \nThis past year\, we supported creative growth through professional development workshops\, artist demonstrations\, critiques\, and exhibitions. We awarded scholarships to seven high school seniors and continued to provide rotating public art at Art at the Bus Stop\, a public art installation in West Newton Square. \nYour gift in any amount helps fund our programs. Your contributions: \n\nkeep art demonstrations and professional development events free and open to the public.\npay for printing artworks on weather-proof materials for Art at the Bus Stop.\nsupport our outreach to the Newton community through our art.\npay rental costs for exhibition spaces and judges.\nfund our scholarship program.\n\nSimply put\, the Annual Appeal sustains our programs. That’s why your support is so critical. Your gift is valued and not taken for granted. \nArt matters to us all. Your contributions ensure that NAA continues to be a vibrant art organization that promotes our artists and strengthens Newton’s arts community. \nArt matters to us all. SUMMARY:PD: Patricia Romeo\, Framing and Matting Your Art
DESCRIPTION:PD: Patricia Romeo – Matting and Framing Your Artwork\nApproaches\, Options\, Opportunities\n \n Watch Recording\n \nDeciding on framing a work of art that you created as an artist or purchased as an art collector has a tendency to cause some individuals a great deal of indecision\, angst and even procrastination. I will show that there are options and opportunities to matting and framing artwork that doesn’t have to be costly. With a little perseverance and creativity one can find ways to frame their newly acquired art with satisfaction and pride. \nPatricia Romeo Jammalo studied studio art at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University where she earned both graduate and post-graduate degrees. She has created art in all media such as watercolor\, oil\, printmaking\, and multi-media work such as collage and sculpture. Patricia frames and matts all 2D artworks. Currently\, she works in two mediums\, wood and fabric\, designing and making artistic functional creations that span the areas of toys\, cutting boards\, and boxes to tote bags\, wallets\, and art supply cases. \nJoin Zoom Meetinghttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/82190356637?pwd=rHkbUffdmBFu5Y6V8kVYFxGDws8wBb.1 \n  \nMeeting ID: 821 9035 6637Passcode: 576009

SUMMARY:DEMO: Donna Calleja
DESCRIPTION:Watch Recording\n \nDEMO: Donna Calleja\nOctober 25@ 1-3pm \nDonna Calleja creates paintings that are inspired by her observation of light on fruit\, shells and flowers from her home garden. She composes natural forms together for their shape\, color and texture from direct observation and her imagination. She wants to interpret the beauty of light on natural forms and hopes to provide her viewers with a moment of quiet reflection. \nHer painting process begins with a bold underpainting that defines a composition of light and shadow. With close observation she adds layers of color to build texture and detail. She loves the quiet process of seeing the details slowly emerge in her paintings. \nDonna Calleja retired a few years ago from a rewarding career teaching art to high school students. She now loves teaching private adult painting classes and having more time to paint. Her paintings have been on display in recent shows at Nahcotta\, Concord Art\, E. Drumm Designs\, Storefront Art Projects and The South Shore Art Center. Her paintings are created with acrylic paint on panel at her home studio in Watertown\, MA. \nImage: Fig and Lemon\, Acrylic on Panel\, 6 x 6 inches \nJoin Zoom Meeting \nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/84200889399?pwd=eXjtVTaoZLd1urJsaaMAaDy3bZScPa.1Meeting ID: 842 0088 9399Passcode: 630941
