SUMMARY:PD: Ingrid Christensen - Becoming the Artist You Are Meant to Be
DESCRIPTION:PD: Ingrid Christensen – Becoming the Artist You Are Meant to Be\n \n ZOOM LINK\n \nThere’s such an array of styles and genres of art that finding your place in the art world can feel overwhelming. We can fall into the trap of chasing styles that turn out to be both unproductive and unsatisfying. Drawing on examples of work that feel deeply rooted in the people who made them\, Ingrid will open a conversation about how such authenticity takes shape. Along the way\, she will explore practical ways artists can begin to recognize and bring forward their own instincts and interests in their work. \nJoin Ingrid for this lively and practical presentation that will help you block out unhelpful advice and fruitless avenues to discover the artistic path that’s right for you. \nIngrid Christensen is\, first and foremost\, a painter of light. Her work is an ongoing exploration of light’s ability to elevate even the most mundane object into the glowing subject of a painting. Ingrid focuses on still life and figurative genres\, painting from life whenever possible\, but knowing that all paintings are\, ultimately\, the work of memory. In the time it takes to make a painting\, flowers fade and models leave. What’s left is the impression that the artist has of the original scene\, stripped of detail – a distillation of the subject. \nHer figurative work is often based on photos from her family’s history\, with memory and nostalgia playing important roles. This personal connection infuses her paintings with a depth of emotion and storytelling that resonates with viewers. \nIngrid is in demand as a workshop instructor both online and in person. She teaches online at The Winslow Art Center and has taught workshops in Canada\, Mexico\, and Italy\, working with painters from all over the world. Her goal is to inspire students with the wonder of the craft of painting\, making them look beyond the surface of their art to its rich\, inner depth – to the potential for painting to act as communication and self-discovery. \nIngrid wrote\, and was featured in\, several Winsor & Newton Masterclass videos filmed in London\, UK. Her art has won both national and international awards and has been highlighted in Modern Impressionist\, International Artist\, Avenues\, and Arabella magazines. She has also contributed articles on painting and creativity to Artsy Online Magazine. \nBased in Canada\, Ingrid’s work is represented in Canada and the US and is held in permanent public and private collections worldwide. \nTopic: Ingrid Christensen – Becoming the Artist You’re Meant to BeTime: Nov 19\, 2026 07:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)Join Zoom Meetinghttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/89269822267?pwd=2hn1flRhlSqI23LoRu8IHSdrZfGXM5.1 \nMeeting ID: 892 6982 2267Passcode: 939996
