He will cover a variety of factors that determine the price an artist attaches to their creations. Mr. Brown will recount experiences from his own career exhibiting and placing art in the U.S.\, the Netherlands\, the UK\, art auctions\, fund-raisers\, and private and corporate collections. We will explore dealing with dealers and recount studio visits from collectors and art lovers from the 1980s through today’s hyperactive open studio environment. We will see how these factors impact the price of your artwork.\n\nArtist’s Bio:\nFormer Associate Dean of Academic Affairs\, Graduate Programs at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts\, Boston\, David Lloyd Brown has exhibited for over 30 years in the United States\, England and The Netherlands. He received his MFA in 1986 from Cornell University and his BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 1979. He has taught painting and drawing\, at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts\, Boston\, Massachusetts College of Art and Design\, The Pennsylvania State University\, and The New England School of Art and Design. He has been a juror for the Massachusetts Cultural Council\, the Copley Society of Boston\, the Newton Art Association\, and the Saint Botolph Club Foundation. In 1983\, David Lloyd Brown was a founding member of the 249 A Street Cooperative a landmark artists’ live work studio building in Fort Point Channel. He currently maintains his studio at 450 Harrison Avenue in the SoWA arts district of Boston.
