CALL FOR ART: 2025-2027 NAA Volunteers Exhibit

September 14 - October 16

CALL FOR ART: NAA Volunteers Exhibit

A Special Exhibition Opportunity for NAA Volunteers

The Newton Art Association is delighted to announce a new exhibition partnership with Attacca School of Music in Belmont and we are especially pleased to offer this opportunity as a thank-you to the volunteers who have generously supported NAA over the past 12–18 months. Attacca School of Music provides a welcoming and creative environment for students, families, musicians, and teachers. Its owner is also a longtime supporter of NAA who has purchased artwork from our exhibitions in the past. Through this new partnership, Attacca is excited to bring the visual arts into its school and introduce the work of NAA artists to its community.

Community Supporting Community

This exhibition has an especially meaningful community connection. Attacca is enthusiastic about promoting the selected artwork and helping connect interested buyers with participating artists. For any artwork sold through the exhibition, NAA’s customary 20% commission will be donated in full to Attacca School of Music’s scholarship fund, helping support access to music education for students in the community. It is a wonderful opportunity for artists, musicians, and two local arts organizations to support one another.

Who May Apply

This special call is open to NAA members who have volunteered with Newton Art Association within the past 12–18 months. Whether you helped with an exhibition, reception, installation, check-in, check-out, event, or another NAA activity, we hope you will consider submitting your work. Thank you for the time and energy you have given to NAA. This opportunity is for you.

Selection

Approximately 11-12 artworks will be selected for the exhibition. Because Attacca knows its space, students, families, and school community best, final artwork selections will be made by Attacca School of Music. Due to the limited number of works that can be displayed, submission does not guarantee selection.

Exhibition Details

Theme: In Harmony Harmony exists not only in music, but throughout the visual world—in color and contrast, movement and stillness, people and places, nature and our everyday surroundings. Artists are invited to interpret In Harmony broadly and personally. Work does not need to depict music or musicians; rather, we encourage submissions that explore balance, connection, relationship, rhythm, or elements coming together to create something greater than their individual parts.
