SUMMARY:Demo with Stephanie Stigliano | Artists Books
DESCRIPTION:This fun and informative demo features printmaker and book artist Stephanie Stigliano. This will be an interactive demo. She will show us how to make easy sample structures in paper. These three-dimensional forms fold flat for storage. You can adapt them for cards\, books\, or ornaments. She will also show you examples of how she uses similar forms in her artwork. Stigliano has been teaching book arts and printmaking since 1988. The supply list is below. \nIf you don’t have any supplies you are welcome to watch and be inspired! \nStephanie Stigliano is experienced in teaching book arts and printmaking in-person and online to students of all ages. Her prints and artist’s books are included in the collections of the Fogg Museum and the Houghton Library of Harvard University\, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts\, the National Museum for Women in the Arts\, and the Book Art Museum of Łodz\, Poland. \nShe is a professor at Boston College where she teaches Making Prints/Making Books. She\ntaught Printmaking and Books as Art at Walnut Hill School for the Arts from 2007-2021. She taught at Art New England for several years and Internationally\, \nStigliano initiated a print project between students of Walnut Hill School for the Arts and The Technical College of Reykjavik. She taught a workshop to the women’s artist collective of Hurumzi Henna Art Gallery in Stonetown\, Zanzibar. In Krakow\, Poland\, she contributed to a print portfolio at The Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts. She exhibited her prints at Íslensk Grafík\, Reykjavik\, Iceland. Her artist’s books were included in Correspondence: The 9th International Book Art Festival\, which traveled throughout Poland \nhttp://stephaniemahanstigliano.com \nSupply List\n4 x 6″ or 5 x 8″ (or 5 x 7″) blank index cards are best\nIf you can’t get index cards\,  get at least 15 sheets of 8.5 x 11 card stock or cover stock (cut it in half-she will explain).\nTo decorate the cards\, bring colored pencils.
