Art at the BUS STOP is a public art initiative sponsored by the Newton Art Association (and with funding from Newton Cultural Council and Newton Community Pride) to promote the enjoyment of art in Newton’s public spaces. Newton Community Pride is covering the cost of the insurance for this project. The Bus Stop structure is essentially a small two-sided billboard– 5 feet wide by 4-feet high or another way to describe it is–a big double-sided picture frame on stilts. Located in Captain Ryan Park in West Newton. NAA’s Bus Stop display will be a rotating exhibit with 3-month-long rotations from April 2024 through September 2025. Twelve different artworks by 12 different artists will be exhibited during this time period. Because of the billboard dimensions, we are seeking artwork that approximates the structure’s proportions 5 feet by 4 feet. Chosen artwork will be digitally reproduced in high-quality and full color on polypropylene and then installed. IMPORTANT DATES
