Anton Nowels, oil, Contemporary Impressionism
In this demo, award-winning artist Anton Nowels will demonstrate how he uses abstraction and impressionism in painting. Nowels uses an experimental approach to color developed by Josef Albers that allows for a great range of color choice. This demo aims to give artists more freedom in design and color.
Nowels’s work has been exhibited on a national level. He is a signature member of the American Impressionist Society, and he recently won an award in Landscape Painting at the Oil Painters of America National Exhibition at the Steamboat Art Museum. Nowels teaches painting at Scottsdale Artists’ School, Winslow Art Center, and Tubac School of Fine Art. This year he participated in the Brinton Museum’s Residency program in Big Horn, Wyoming. Nowels’s work is represented by the Maynard Dixon Legacy Museum in Mt. Carmel, Utah.
