Paul Alie

Paul paints primarily in transparent watercolor and sometimes adds acrylic inks for textural effects. Subject matter is varied but many paintings reflect his love of the New England and Southwest landscapes. He enjoys rendering subjects that provide opportunities for textural experimentation such as pottery, rocks or old baskets. He is a Signature Member of the New England Watercolor Society and also exhibits with the Newton Art Association, the Newton Watercolor Society and other regional venues. His works have been selected for juried shows and recognized with awards. He lives in Newton, MA and teaches watercolor painting at the New Art Center in Newtonville and the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown. He teaches both in-person and online classes and offers private and semi-private instruction as well.
