Explore the many meanings of Reflections—from mirrored images in water, glass, and light to personal memories, introspection, and life’s journey. Artists are invited to interpret the theme literally or metaphorically in any medium. Open to the first 30 submissions. Size limitation, including frame, is 18” width.

ELIGIBILITY
  • Limited to 30 entries. Acceptances will be on a “first come first serve” basis
  • 2-D works limited to 18 inches width, including frame
  • 3-D works must be able to fit into a 12″ deep cabinet
  • Applications will be accepted online only
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
  • Each member may enter one submission, along with an exhibition fee of $25
  • Refrain from submitting work that may be considered offensive or otherwise inappropriate for the library. Works can include non-frontal nude figures that are discreet. If you have questions, please send the image to [email protected]. Put “2026-2027 Membership Exhibit” in the subject line.
  • There is a 20% commission taken by the NAA on all sales.
  • Participants may only submit original work, completed in the past 3 years, that has not been shown in previous NAA shows. No reproductions of original work.
  • Artwork images should be a minimum of 1200px on the longest side at 72 dpi. And saved as .jpg (.jpeg) No files larger than 3MB.
  • Images must be titled as follows: Last_Name_First_Name_Title_Media_Size_Price_Year. For example: Throop_Garrow_Landscape_Watercolor_18x24_$500_2023 (Please use underscore between each word)
HANGING / DISPLAY REQUIREMENTS:
  • There is a size limit of 18 inches in width of frame.
  • All work must be wired: no saw-tooth hangers or pinch-clip frames. Wires should be tight and attached with screws to the frame.
  • Unframed stretched canvases must have the sides painted or otherwise finished in a manner coordinated with the work, and must be dry.
  • Label back of artwork with: Artist name, title, media, and price.
  • Work must stay up until the end of the show.
  • Drop off and pick up art promptly at the scheduled date and time or make arrangements with others to pick it up on your behalf. No storage space is provided. Neither the Newton Art Association nor the Newton Free Library are liable for unclaimed artwork.

In registering for this show, I understand that I shall not hold the Newton Art Association or the Newton Free Library responsible for any loss or damage. I understand that NAA reserves the right to photograph or display images of the artists’ work on their website. Furthermore, I have read the show rules and understand that work that is not compliant with the regulations will not be accepted.
