Reception and Awards Ceremony: Tuesday, March 18, 4-6pm with special musical trio Detour Ahead

Join us for NAA’s biggest event of the year, the 2025 Annual JAMES KING BONNER Exhibit named after NAA’s founder in 1949. Juried by well known artist/musician Santiago Hernandez who brings his trio, Detour Ahead for a lively reception.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Exhibit Dates: Monday, March 3 – Wednesday – April 30
  • Drop-off: Monday, March 3, 10 – 11am
  • Reception: Tuesday, March 18, 4 – 6pm with Special Trio, Detour Ahead
  • Pick-Up: Wednesday, April 30, 10 – 11am


ELIGIBILITY

  • This show is open to all Newton Art Association members in good standing. Limited to 55 entries.
  • 2-D works limited to 36” in width and 42 inches in length for 2D work
  • 3-D works will be placed in glass covered shelves and must not exceed 11” deep. Applications will be accepted online only.

AWARDS (Selection of categories is at the discretion of the Juror)

  • NAA First Place Award: $300
  • NAA Second Place Award: $200
  • NAA Third Place Award: $100
  • Honorable Mentions: $50

ABOUT THE JUROR
Santiago Hernandez: Santiago Hernandez studied at the Arts Students League prior to receiving his BFA in Studio Art, School of Visual Arts, NY, and his MFA in Painting, University of South Florida, Tampa, FL. He is the recipient of numerous grants and awards. He has exhibited widely and his art is in the collections of RISD Museum of Art, Providence, RI; Orlando Museum of Art, and Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Provincetown, MA, as well as numerous corporate and private collections. As a professional drummer and percussionist, he specializes in playing jazz, Afro-Cuban, Latin Jazz, Latin Funk, and Blues
