Artist Statement
Painting began for me as a way to make sense of personal grief, a practice of release rather than outcome. Over time it has evolved into a deeper investigation of resilience, joy, and the complexity of human emotion.
My work moves fluidly between lyrical abstraction and more structured forms, each approach reflecting a different emotional state and creative impulse. Circles recur throughout my work as symbols of renewal and cyclical growth, echoing life’s perpetual opportunities for beginning again. Through bold color and playful composition, I seek to capture lightness and optimism. Layered textures and structured shapes offer focus and calm, creating visual spaces that invite contemplation and emotional connection.
Across every series I make, my goal is consistent: to create work that resonates personally with viewers, that offers hope, invites curiosity, and honors both the messy and beautiful parts of being human.
