Amy Lassman

Artist statement:
The ADAR Design process begins while scouring London antique markets, New York's Garment District and venues around New England for fine textiles, natural elements and vintage embellishments. Then, Amy Rosenstein Lassman employs classic styles, current trends and whimsical inspiration to create handbags, Judaica and accessories. My designs are inspired by the materials themselves and often include custom embroidery, chain, beading and draping. I have refined my collections to shapes that allow me to explore exciting design themes while maintaining, user-friendly space and organization requirements. Purses for special occasions range from simple elegance to dramatic glamour, while leathers and rugged fabrics are the basis for Adar everyday bags, combining aesthetics and practicality. Adar Judaica includes kippot (head coverings), tallises (prayer shawls) and chuppot (wedding canopies). These pieces are inspired by joy, nature and the stories of the recipients themselves while respecting all of the requirements of tradition.
